Indecent Exposure

Our shop and a friend’s shop were all ready to print shirts of the fight poster design for the upcoming Floyd Mayweather-Marcos Maidana boxing match and were told somewhat abruptly that the job had been cancelled by the client. We didn’t really know what had happened until we spotted this article about a tweet heard round the creative world where designer Dan Cassaro scored a TKO in his response to an invitation to design for the event “for the exposure” (and not, you know, actual monetary payment.) It might not have been the reason, but certainly this has not gone the way Showtime wanted.

I don’t know what it is that makes some people think that anyone involved in creative work should be happy to work for free “for the exposure”. Turned out to be some indecent exposure for MGM Grand and Showtime.
