DIY Foam-Top Pallets

A variety of specialty pallets are available today for printing over and/or around zippers.   Six+ years ago the options were not quite what they are today and I chose a DIY approach which resulted in a foam-top pallet design which we still utilize today…

The foam topper is a 3/8″ thick silicone-based foam product

We applied the foam to a standard pallet with a compatible adhesive.  When I say “compatible” I mean an adhesive that will not harm the silicone-based foam and will create a permanent bond

The foam topper does not extend all the way to the end of the pallet which allows the zipper-pull to hang off the edge and not come in contact with the screen mesh.  Popping screens sucks!

Printing soft, distressed graphics over a zipper is one thing, clean sharp lines with opaque plastisol ink is another

I mean super clean lines, right over the piping
